Artist's Comments
One of my first speed paintings, of Michael Stipe from REM. This was done in two hours, with Adobe Photoshop CS, using my Wacom Intuos2 9x12 tablet.
Notice how rough the brush work is... probably because I was just using a single brush size. Very dirty and messy, but at least I drew big, which in a way compensated for the lack of detail. I don't really listen to REM much... I do like some of their songs though. Mostly because they were introduced to me by one of my 'sisters'. I remember reading, in one of his interviews once, how he explained that "once you're old... you just want blue eyebrows, you know". This is an old painting, done in August 2004. |
